This remote-mounted 12V unit delivers reliable, high-flow cooling for a wide range of engines, making it ideal for high-horsepower, turbocharged, supercharged, and heavily modified builds that generate excessive heat.

Building on the success of the EWP®80, the EWP®140 features a highly adaptable design. It supports multiple installation configurations, with optional elbow and straight adaptors that bolt directly to the inlet and outlet. This flexibility makes remote mounting straightforward, even in tighter engine bays.

Designed for both standalone and supplementary use, the EWP®140 works equally well in intercooler systems or as a replacement for the factory mechanical water pump. By removing the limitations of belt-driven operation, it delivers consistent coolant flow and significantly improves temperature control.

Just as importantly, eliminating the mechanical pump reduces parasitic drag on the engine. This frees up to 10 kW (13 hp) of extra power, while also improving torque and fuel efficiency

Pair the Davies Craig LCD EWP Fan Digital Controller with your EWP® system to unlock full control over both the electric water pump and Thermatic® fan operation. This smart controller continuously adjusts pump speed based on coolant temperature, keeping your engine within the ideal range at all times.

You can fine-tune temperature settings to suit your priorities—dial it in for maximum performance or optimise for fuel efficiency. As temperatures rise, the controller automatically activates the Thermatic® fan once the coolant exceeds the target by 3°C (5.4°F), ensuring rapid heat management under load.

After shutdown, the system keeps working. The controller continues to run the pump and fan for up to three minutes—or until the temperature drops 10°C (14°F) below your set point. This eliminates heat soak, protects engine components, and extends overall engine life.

EWP® Installation Options

The EWP® system offers flexible installation depending on your build and performance goals:

Auxiliary Pump (Simplest Setup)

Keep the factory mechanical pump and install the EWP® in the lower radiator hose.
To maintain coolant flow, remove the thermostat and drill two small (3mm) holes in the plate before reinstalling it with a clean housing and proper gasket.

Disable Mechanical Pump (Quick Upgrade)

Leave the mechanical pump in place but bypass it with a shorter belt. Install the EWP® in the lower hose and remove the thermostat.
If running continuous flow, drill two small holes in the thermostat plate before reinstalling.

In this setup, the EWP® pushes coolant past the stationary impeller.

Disengage Mechanical Pump (Recommended)

Remove the thermostat and mechanical pump, then take out the impeller. Reinstall the housing so the pulley functions as an idler, avoiding belt re-routing.
Block any bypass passages, ensure clean gasket surfaces, and reinstall using new seals. Then mount the EWP® in the lower radiator hose.

Remove Mechanical Pump (Best Performance)

For maximum efficiency, remove both the mechanical pump and thermostat entirely. Install a header adaptor or blanking plate, then fit the EWP® into the lower hose.
This setup may require custom hose work and a revised belt length, but it delivers the best cooling performance and flow control.

Mounting Notes

In many cases, the radiator hose will support the pump. If additional mounting is needed, always use a soft mount to reduce vibration and protect the unit.
For EWP®115, EWP®140, and EWP®150 models, mounting brackets (#8700 or #8710) are recommended.
